As they say, if you know, you know! That adrenaline rush mixed with joy, relief, and pride as you pull the trigger and watch everything unfold in front of you. The exhaustion and exhilaration—it’s a feeling SNS Outfitter & Guides knows well.
For 46 seasons, we've had the privilege of hosting top-tier hunting adventures in Wyoming & Montana. Time and time again, our clients leave with unforgettable memories of a hunt well conducted.
We take great pride in offering first-class guided hunts, and today, we’re sharing a highlight from a trophy antelope hunt this past fall with professional guides Richard Fink & Mark Jarrett.
This adventure featured three long-time hunting buddies—Tim, Lonnie, and Chris—who went 3-for-3, each harvesting a trophy pronghorn buck.
The hunt kicked off with a hearty meal from camp cook Ms. Sylvia at our Red Butte Lodge. After gearing up and checking their equipment, the hunters set out.
🔍 The first day was all about glassing and “shopping” for the right buck.
Anyone who has hunted antelope with SNS will tell you—it’s not about finding an antelope buck, but rather choosing the right one. As the day wrapped up, the group strategized their plan for first shooting light the next morning.
Tim and guide Mark Jarrett started the morning waiting for the perfect opportunity.
The buck Tim had his eye on was tucked away in a draw with little chance for a sneak attack. For hours, they watched him graze and mingle with does, hoping for an opening.
Then—it was game on.
The buck trotted over a ridge, giving Tim and Mark just enough cover to move into ethical shooting range. Moments later, Tim sealed the deal with a finishing shot over the hood of the truck.
✔ First buck down!
As Tim admired his trophy, he pointed out its unique character—outward-facing cutters and a distinctive left fork that made him a true standout.
Meanwhile, on a neighboring ranch, guide Richard Fink and Lonnie were locked in on a tough, battle-worn antelope.
This trophy buck had one broken cutter—likely from a fierce battle during the rut. Despite the injury, he was a fantastic specimen.
By midday, two tags were filled, and the group met up for lunch in the field, sharing stories from the morning—what we like to call "Tailgate Tales."
✔ Two down, one to go!
As the afternoon sun stretched across the plains, Chris and his guide made their final stalk.
His target was right where they had left him the evening before. With minimal cover, the buck spotted them quickly and stood up, alert and ready to flee.
💥 No time to waste—Chris took the shot!
His bullet found its mark, dropping the buck right in his tracks.
✔ Three-for-three success!
The celebration was on! 🎉
