Firearm Safety

FirearmSafety-THUMB

Handling firearms during your hunt must be done in a safe manner where no one is placed in jeopardy from unsafe practices.

Welcome to another video in The SNS Outfitter Classroom series. Like any good trade teacher would do, there's always a day of instruction covering the safety rules for the classroom setting before getting to dive into the hands on portion. For this video we will be discussing the very important topic of Firearm Safety. This is easily the most serious topic we will be covering from the SNS Classroom and we hope that you will follow along while we run through these safety rules.

Handling firearms during your hunt must be done in a safe manner where no one is placed in jeopardy from unsafe practices. Our goal is to insure each client understands the safety rules and how critical it is to adhere to them during their hunt with SNS Outfitter & Guides. At the end of the day, we want each of our clients and employees to return home safely to their friends and families with incredible memories of another great hunting adventure. Let's get into the rule book:

Let's get into the rule book:

  1. Keep all firearms unloaded until you reach the hunting area or you are instructed by your guide to load a round or magazine.
  2. Do not chamber a bullet until instructed to do so by your guide, only chamber a round when preparing to shoot an animal.
  3. Muzzle control is expected from each hunter at all times. Never point your firearm at anything you do not intend to shoot.
  4. Always open your bolt to be sure your chamber is empty before putting your gun in a vehicle or in a saddle rifle scabbard.
  5. Firearms shall be carried in the vehicle muzzle down at all times.
  6. Unload all firearms at the end of the day before heading back to camp. Firearms are to remain unloaded while in camp.

Safe handling of firearms is the most important aspect of your hunt.

We take this seriously and will do everything in our power to see that these safety rules are adhered to. If these rules are not followed, all SNS Outfitter Guides have the authority to terminate a hunt because of unsafe firearm handling. Should your hunt be terminated from failure to follow safe gun handling practices, no refunds will be awarded. Knowing these safe firearm handling rules before your trip and practicing them will insure a safe hunting trip.
