Final Reminder: Wyoming Elk Hunting Applications Due January 31
Remember, the non-resident Wyoming elk hunting application period is January 1 – January 31, 2014. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. MST on the 31st. If you’ve been thinking about a Wyoming elk hunt, now is the time to start planning.
If you have any questions about preference points or the application process in Wyoming, please call us at 307-266-4229. We offer a preference point program that takes the guess work out. By enrolling in our preference point program, the amount paid for your points will be discounted from the price of your hunt. In the end, your points will be free!
It is important to know that in Wyoming, there are two ways to accumulate points. First, you may purchase points (one per year) and save them until you are ready to hunt. Second, you may apply for a license and if you do not draw your first choice, you will receive a point.
When you fail to draw your first choice hunt, you may still draw your second choice license and receive the point, allowing you to accumulate a point and hunt in the same year. This is a great option for those who want to accumulate points for a trophy area, while still hunting each each year in the meantime.
Finally, please remember that if you do not apply or purchase a point for two consecutive years, you will lose any points that you’ve accumulated.
