Wyoming Hunters Will Benefit from 2015 Winter Conditions
The winter of 2014/2015 has proven to be a promising one for Wyoming hunters who plan to hunt big game this year. Our Wyoming antelope, deer and elk herds will no doubt benefit from this year’s mild weather.
While snowpack totals peaked at about 95% of average in early March, the winter overall was marked by unseasonably warm weather throughout January and much of February. We were fortunate to receive some storms that provided much needed precipitation, without a terribly severe winter.
This balance should translate in to healthy carryover for our big game herds and excellent antler growth heading into the 2015 hunting seasons. As hunters, seeing healthy herds coming through the winter gives us a great optimism for the coming season.
Here at SNS, we have enjoyed a busy winter season. The “off season” doesn’t bring much time off around here as we continue to plan, prepare and make improvements to all of our camps. We’ve enjoyed speaking to many of you on the phone as we answer questions, fill out big game applications, and help get our hunters ready for the adventures ahead.
We are now anxiously looking forward to the spring bear season, which is only six weeks away! We recently published an article on the many reasons we love spring bear hunting. That is always a fun hunt to kick off the new year of hunting!
Our antelope, mule deer, and elk hunts are nearly all booked for the 2015 season. For those with Wyoming mule deer preference points, you may want to give us a call about our trophy mule deer hunts in the Greys River! We have a few spots open for this incredible timberline hunt for big mulies. Call us ASAP at 307-266-4229 if you’re interested. Otherwise, we are starting to fill hunts for 2016 and beyond. If you have your heart set on a specific hunt, it’s not too early to give us a call and reserve your spot for 2016.
