We had a great time on the archery antelope hunts this season! Taking an antelope buck with a bow is a very challenging endeavor, and our hats are off to all of our archery antelope hunters who joined us this year. Antelope are cagey and they have outstanding vision. Pulling off a clean shot within bow range is no easy task. 

Congratulations to our 2017 archery antelope hunters on taking some very hard-earned trophies. We typically hunt antelope in archery season using ground blinds. Our guides keep a careful eye on pronghorn movements and then place ground blinds at water holes that are being frequently used. Unlike some other big game animals, antelope will often water throughout the middle of the day. 

This ground blind strategy is a game of patience and persistence. A nervous buck may circle the outskirts of a water tank several times before coming to water. Archery antelope hunting, like any type of hunting, is also dependent on weather. But unlike hunting elk or mule deer, hot and dry is ideal for archery antelope. The hotter it is, the more they’ll need to visit water during the day.
