The Wyoming Hunter Defense Fund (WHDF) is hosting a CWD awareness event on March 22 in Jackson. In a proactive effort battle anti-hunting pressure, the WHDF will present latest research on Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) and the impact the disease is making on our Big Game herds.

Some anti-hunting groups have intentionally spread misconceptions about CWD as an indirect path to try and limit hunting opportunities. These groups have tried to use CWD as a reason to end winter elk feeding programs in Wyoming. In reality, the only thing that would threaten our elk populations is to quit feeding them.

This special event is open to the public and will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson. Wildlife experts will present the latest CWD research and outline the real challenges that Wyoming’s elk herds face in the future.

The Wyoming Hunter Defense Fund is strongly encouraging hunters and other outdoor conservation enthusiasts to attend and learn what the public can do to help protect the future of elk in Wyoming.

Again, anyone is welcome to attend at the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson on March 22 at 6:30 p.m. This will be a great opportunity to learn about an issue that will impact the future of elk hunting opportunities in Wyoming.
